BACKGROUND: Equinets World of Racing project began in 1992 in response to a perceived need for a computer program and database to take the guesswork out of making a profit from horse or hound racing.
After more than 20,000 hours of programming, the first release of the software was aimed primarily towards trifecta betting. It was a DOS application and data updates were via landline to our servers in Auckland. Over the years, and with dozens of upgrades and additions the software now lends itself to any type of wager.
Recently, the entire software was completely re-written (using Delphi, Advantage Database Server, and other libraries) as a full 32-bit Windows application with data updates via our Internet server. (Interestingly, some of our early subscribers are still using the last DOS version, circa 1998).
PHILOSOPHY: Unlike other vendors of similar software (some legitimate, some not), who charge anything up to $20,000 or more for their product, we provide it for FREE. We regard it not as a "product", but simply as part of our service. Likewise, we have no contracts or any other charges apart from a small monthly subscription for data updates.

HORSE AND HOUND RACING FOR FUN AND PROFIT: The New Zealand racing industry is highly regulated, with the NZ Government having a stake in the TAB.
When a bet is placed, the TAB takes a 3% commission and the Government takes 18%. The remainder goes into the betting pool, all of which is paid out to successful punters after the running of the race. This payout is therefore tax-free.
